General Inquiries

A: No experience is needed beyond knowing how to swim. Our courses are beginner-friendly and include all necessary training.
Q: Do I need other be an elite athlete to become a scuba diver.
A: No. While a relative level of health is required, people from many lifestyles and histories are able to successfully enjoy scuba diving. A medical release IS REQUIRED. It can be found here: Medical Questionnaire. Your medical is good for 1 year.
Once it is completed*, using international date format Day/Month/Year, please submit it here.
*Including medical professional signature if required.
Q: How long does it take to get Open Water certified?
A: It varies depending on all participants availability and how much time they can dedicate to scuba activities. Usually about 2 months. 1-2 weeks of eLearning, 2-4 weeks to complete the 5 Pool “dives” to learn the required skills, then a long weekend (Friday-Tuesday) to complete the certification dives and up to 6 mentored dives with your instructor.
Q: Where do certification trips take place?
A: While we are open to alternatives, we recommend turning your certification journey into a real vacation with travel to the Florida Keys, offering access to warm waters and the only barrier reef in the continental United States… All just 1 hour’s drive south of Miami International Airport (MIA).
Q: What’s included in the packaged courses?
A: All scuba equipment rental, instruction, dive site access (boat trips etc.) and mentorship are provided. Travel expenses are coordinated by you. Recommendations are discussed during enrollment.
Q: Does it have to be over a long weekend?
A: No. Our packages are tailored to your needs. We usually plan 5 consecutive days. To meet certification standards, you are required to spread the certification dives over at least 2 days. 3 days are for diving (1 as a buffer for weather issues or extra dive time if no weather issues.) After diving for multiple days, you are also required to wait at least 18 hrs before flying(more on this in the eLearning), so 2 days for travel. Longer options are available as well.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Given that each package is individually customized to your when, where and what … the cost can vary widely. Please reach out and we will be happy to begin building your personalized adventure.
